Sound Baths

What
is a

Sound Bath?

A sound bath is designed as a meditative and even healing experience where those in attendance
are immersed and “bathed” in sound waves. These waves are produced by various sources, including
healing instruments such as singing bowls, gongs, percussion, chimes, rattles, tuning forks, or even
the voice itself.

Sound bath music isn’t the same as listening to your favourite songs, with set tunes and rhythms. It
is simply a selection of instruments carefully chosen with a range of frequencies and textures that
are played in an intuitive fashion. This means that there won’t be a steady rhythm or melody to latch
onto, which in turn allows the brain to let go

How does
it work?

Sound therapy is deeply rooted in science and based on the principles of quantum physics and sacred geometry. Western medicine uses sound waves every day in the form of ultrasound technology, which can be used to break up kidney stones among other things.

Sound therapy, allows the brain to relax into an alpha-dominant or theta-dominant brainwave state, this state gives your brain time to process what’s been happening in your day, allowing you to process thoughts and emotions. On a personal level we all know that sound in general has the power to change our moods, our favourite song will have us singing away or dancing in a heartbeat. Many find the sound of the waves intensely soothing, even bird song has been proven to relax the mind.

During a sound bath the intention is to shift, change and help balance the energy of those who participate. Much like acupuncture clears energy blockages with needles, sound baths do the same
with soundwaves.

What Happens
During a Sound Bath?

During a sound bath, you are invited to make yourselves comfortable, this is usually by laying on your backs (sometimes referred to as the Savasana position in yoga) but you can also be seated, for the entire experience.

Our sound baths vary in theme, however they will all commence with a gentle meditation to set you on your path to relaxation, before commencing the sound immersion. Sessions will also vary in time, so please be guided by the individual event details.

Afterwards, you are advised to gently bring yourself to the moment, move slowly and have a drink much like if you have had a massage. There will always be time at the end of our sessions to allow
for this and for any discussion and questions.

Who May
Benefit From

A Sound Bath?

Sound baths are great for almost anyone who’s interested in experiencing one. No matter what stage of their lives.

There is no need for any physical abilities such as flexibility or athleticism as you are laying down or seated comfortably throughout. The best part is that you don’t have to do anything but show up in comfortable clothing and receive the sounds around you while lying peacefully.

Sound baths may be particularly beneficial for those that have difficulty connecting with traditional meditation or yoga but still want to experience similar benefits. This can be especially true if you overthink or have a noisy mind that makes it difficult to meditate in more traditional ways.

How to Experience
a Sound Bath

Sound baths are all unique experiences and are hard to compare with other therapies. So when experiencing a sound bath for the first time, attend with an open mind and no expectations, just allow yourself to ‘feel’ the experience. Also remember that no 2 experiences will be the same as it is working at an energetic level and your own energies are in a state of constant flux. The different frequencies of sound healing instruments such as tuning forks, gongs and crystal singing bowls, affect different organs, emotions, illnesses, diseases, chakras and trauma. So, in a community setting some sessions may resonate more with you than others according to where you are at in that
moment in time.

No, not in the sense of what we recognise as music, with structured rhythms, beats and melodies. A sound bath is less structured, allowing you the listener to go deeper into your own experience rather than reacting like you would with regular sing song music.

Yes and No. A sound bath facilitates a deeper relaxation and a meditative like state as all you’re required to do, is be there present in the moment, hearing and experiencing each sound. No need for mantras or sitting up straight, no need to consciously clear your mind. Just listen, and relax.

Due to the calming, centred feeling often created by sound bathing, people often report getting a good night’s sleep, and the sense of calm extending into the following day.

Absolutely. Let us know what you want and we will organise a Gift Voucher for you.
